porch piratesOur family is avid online shoppers and has been the victim of porch pirating more than once. It is very helpful to have a video doorbell to combat porch pirates. Not only will the EsiCam Wireless Video Doorbell enable the police to be notified of a crime in progress, it will also record the crime for later review.

With the EsiCam Wireless Video Doorbell, it's easy to install, and everything you need is included in the box. The box includes: a Video Doorbell, four mounting screws, four anchors, a security screw driver, a mounting bracket, an AC power cable, and a user's manual. Included with the doorbell are two rechargeable batteries that can be charged right in the device. The device is powered by a C-Class USB cable (sold separately) or you can plug it directly into your computer. When charging with the charging cable, it takes about two and a half hours to charge completely. This charge should keep it functional for at least two weeks.

How to set up the video doorbell with cloud storage

The XSH Cam APP can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple Store. The Wi-Fi Connection only supports 2.4GHz, which may be a deal breaker for some users, but it is pretty much the standard setting for most WiFi networks.

With EsiCam Wireless Video Doorbell, you can access free Cloud Services through the "XSH Cam App".  You can then save the videos to your cloud account and review them whenever you like. A maximum of twenty videos can be stored daily in the cloud. The doorbell begins recording when a visitor presses it, and it is uploaded to the cloud. By using the cloud, the doorbell becomes more effective. Evidence will be instantly uploaded and placed out of reach if someone steals the video doorbell from your home. Using a TF memory card, you can increase the internal memory of the camera to 32 Gigs, if you do not want to use the cloud service.

Ensure that you have enabled push notifications on your smartphone and make sure that the XSH Cam APP can run in the background.

Wireless Video DoorbellMy Thoughts

The EsiCam Wireless Video Doorbell allows me to see who is at my door anywhere, anytime. I am able to interact with my visitor from my phone both while away from home and when I am at home when they push the doorbell button.

Due to the fact that I live on a busy street, I appreciate the fact that the doorbell has noise reduction features that clear up the audio sound. Motion detection is also a nice feature. PIR sensors alert me by sending me a text message if anyone approaches or hovers near the door.

The camera seems to have a very good quality. In addition, a wide-angle 166° lens is included with the device. High-definition 1080x720 video is provided by the EsiCam Doorbell.

Night vision is also included in the video doorbell. The resolution is very high, so I can make out the individual standing at my door easily. In addition, the doorbell button illuminates at night time to increase visibility.

Most home owners are constantly looking for ways to make their homes less vulnerable to intruders. On two previous occasions, I've been the victim of a home intruder. This has left me with both an uneasy feeling and a sense of violation knowing someone broke into my home. Adding the EsiCam Wireless Video Doorbell to my home is an added layer of security.
